  1. What is a DSN?
A DSN stands for Digital Signage Network – basically a collection of individual Digital Signage boxes (sometimes known as players) all networked together allowing content to be easy changed either from a centre location or a locally to the individual player. Players connect to other units via a Local Area Network (LAN), WAN, GPRS, Satellite and even dial-up networks.

  2. What can Digital Signage be used for?
Digital Signage is currently being used in lobbies and waiting rooms, by corporations for staff communications, by universities and local councils. DSN’s are also found in retail environments, the hotel/hospitality industry, call centres, shop floors, airports and trade show floors. The versatility of the system is limited only by the vision of the potential user.

  3. Is it easy to use?
Yes! All our systems have an intuitive interface employing friendly icons and an easy step-by-step approach to help create professional-looking displays. A web browser is all that is necessary.

  4. How does Digital Signage work?
The player enables users to easily build play lists by integrating pre-created content into a template and schedule when it is played

  5. Can I access my player via the Internet?
    Yes.

  6. Does your Digital Signage require Internet access?
No, Digital Signage does not require Internet access for standalone players

  7. Can I drive the same content to multiple displays?
Yes, the same content may be shown on multiple display units using video splitters.

  8. Do your Digital Signage solutions contain any built-in templates?
Yes. All our systems come with a set of built-in templates which allow attractive background graphics and colour combinations. The built in page layout system enables users to quickly create new templates.

  9. Can I customise my layouts?
Yes. You can easily customise the templates using the built in interface.

  10. Can digital images or graphics created in other programs be used with Digital Signage?
Yes. You can import images, movies, sounds, PowerPoint slides, RSS feeds, Flash movies and even web pages into any Digital Signage layout.

  11. Can I display Live Television?
Live television can be all or part of a Digital Signage display.

  12. What about interactive applications?
Digital Signage can be used as an interactive system by plugging in a mouse, keyboard, touch screen monitor or in the case of through window advertising – interactive film is placed on the inside of the shop window.

  13. How do I administer the system?
You may add, change or delete user access and administrative rights as desired.

  14. Which displays work best with Digital Signage?
Most displays that accept standard 15-pin RGB (VGA) connections will work with Digital Signage. However, as technology changes HD connections are becoming increasingly popular. Alternatively create an extra wow factor by projecting your Digital Signage on to one of our rear projection screens.

  15. What display resolutions can the systems support?
Digital Signage supports all standard 4:3 and widescreen resolutions, from 640 X 480 up to 1920 X 1440 in both 'portrait' and 'landscape' views.

  16. How does Digital Signage differ from a 'Media Player'?
Media Players play only one image at a time. Digital Signage can display combinations of text, images, scrolling text, movies, audio, animation, live television or video simultaneously, in succession or scheduled throughout the day.
